Mezzo Apartments

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

We had the pleasure of designing, producing and installing a series of metal prints at the Mezzo building. The project started with a Northeast Minneapolis photoshoot and blossomed from there. All images used in the designs were taken within a 6-block radius of the property which makes this artwork about as local as you can get. The metal prints were installed in the Sky Lounge and the Co-working Lobby area. These prints were dye sublimated in Kahler Photo’s studio.

Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown

PHOENIX, AZ

Kahler Photo supplied the artwork for the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown in Phoenix, Arizona. Danny traveled down to Phoenix this year to get local shots specifically for this project and the graphic and bold photos bursting with color are exactly what the client asked for. This historic hotel, featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic film “Psycho”, recently underwent an extensive renovation after sitting vacant for 20 years! This hotel now seamlessly mixes its historical Art Deco charm with an inviting yet modern touch. We sought to achieve the same with the artwork by bringing in bold, custom colored images of Phoenix with traditional ornate and eye-catching frames. We created a mixture of framed paper prints and large scale framed canvas pieces like the one below completing their aesthetic and creating drama.

Radisson Hotel

DULUTH, MN

The Radisson Hotel was looking for a creative way to frame off the mounted televisions in each room. These PVC prints were mounted to the wall with a smaller backer, giving a floating appearance. With a smaller hole in the piece, the TV was able to be mounted directly to the wall without a large hole showing around the TV. These pieces really gave the room a pop of color as well with these large color abstracted images. Danny took these shots in Duluth and gave them new life by bringing a bold purple into the mix!

Radisson Hotel

LACROSSE, WI

After creating the guest room art, Kahler Photo was asked back to create a montage of images showcasing the City of La Crosse from past to present. The acrylic pieces are all historical images of La Crosse while the brushed aluminum panels are recently shot by Danny Kahler in La Crosse. This contrast and integration tells the story of La Crosse, WI. All of the pieces are color abstracted to work well with the hotel's interior color scheme and were hung with a mounting block giving them a floating appearance. These also tie into the artwork we had already supplied for the Radisson for all of the guest rooms.

Town Place Suites

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

All locally shot, these photographs highlight the range of historical to modern architecture we have around the little apple of Minneapolis. This TownePlace Suites in particular was recently mentioned as one of the best places to stay in the North Loop!

We are honored to have been chosen to supply artwork in this beautiful hotel.

Two of these many pieces that we installed are backlit prints. The vertical print is an acrylic print that was installed in the sliding doors of this existing cabinet. Acting as a feature wall and adding dimension, this print and the next highlight colorful landmarks that are blocks away from the hotel. The second and third image highlight another backlit print that was printed on transparent film and adhered to an existing window separating the entrance vestibule and the fireplace seating area. The lighting in both areas adds a glow to the print when viewed from the opposing side.
